Republicans have more than proven that they are not financial conservatives. They say one thing and do another. Worse, they assume that if you disagree with them you are the opposite: A tax and spend liberal. I agree with Mr. Chui's statements to ahigh degree, but I do not trust the way the Republican calculus that uses rational financial arguments to get votes. Just ask: What is the total "cost of ownership" of Republicans? "I will save you money, buy my cheap republican razor and will cut taxes, but I will sell you the blades on credit!" 1) Enforce existing laws, change laws that don't work. Yes, but they erode the tax base for enforcement Pathetic electoral strategies 2) Price x quantity = Revenue a) is it cheaper to pander to votes (quantity strategy)? b) is it cheaper to hire lobbyists (high price strategy)? 3) Promises x Appealing to "victims" = votes (that is strategy a ) 4) Financial conservatives have to adjust to physical limitations of our nature (Yes, it is called ENVIRONMENT, deal with it!)
