      At http://www.veratrifanova.com is a new site of Vera Trifanova, coloratura soprano. Apart from information common to such resources, such as the bioghraphy, the repertoire, concert schedule and photos, the site features a large number of the recordings and videos of the singer's concert performances in avi, mp3, mpeg and wma formats.

       

      Among those are such classical coloratura arias as Mozart's Koenigin Der Nacht, Hofman's Olympia, R. Strauss' Zerbinetta, Johan Strauss' Adele as well as such jewels of  oratorial and baroque music as Handel's Gloria In Excelsis Deo, Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, Bach's Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen and Melani's cantata Qual mormorio giocondo.

       

      Vera Trifanova graduated cum laude from the Mannheim Opera School in Germany. While she was studying there, in 2003, she became a finalist of the Viotii contest in Italy, then a semi-finalist of the Queen Elizabeth contest in Belgium in 2004 and debuted in the opera theater in Baden-Baden and Heidelberg Staatstheater.

       

      The singer often takes her opera and baroque programmes on the road with orchestras directed by such conductors as Klaus Arp, Heinz-Rüdiger Drengemann, Klaus Eisenmann, Ronald Techet, Peter Schumann, Markus Zepp and Volker Christ.

       

      At a jubilee festival in Zwingenberg in 2007, Vera performed the aria of Koenigin Der Nacht in Mozarts's Die Zauberflute. The next year she performed in the premiere of «Hands in the cave» by the contemporary composer Carola Gribari in Heidelberg.

       

      This year Vera Trifanova is graduating from the Musikhochschule Mannheim post-graduate department.

      San Francisco’s award-winning LAMPLIGHTERS MUSIC THEATRE brings the political satire of Gilbert & Sullivan into the 21st century with their 43rd annual Champagne Gala Fundraiser, this year entitled MOCK THE VOTE! 

      Set in a parallel universe (although one bearing curious similarities to our own), MOCK THE VOTE explores the behind-the-scenes intrigue surrounding a hotly contested presidential campaign.  The pressing domestic issue of the day is the Kibble Crisis (the skyrocketing cost of dog food), and in foreign policy the country is in danger of declaring war on Bermuda due to a difference of opinion regarding the proper length of dress trousers.   Candidates Mildred Fillmore and Taylor Zachary battle for the White House, and no holds are barred – especially not if they get a laugh. 

      A silent auction will feature one-of-a-kind items, including the opportunity to bid on a walk-on role in a future Lamplighters production.  All tickets include a champagne reception sponsored by Gloria Ferrer Caves & Vineyards and Segura Viudas Aria following the show.

      The Lamplighters’ annual Gala is an original show, and a spoof on whatever seems to be in the news, or on any crazy idea that somebody has had, set to the music of Sir Arthur Sullivan.

      Lamplighters Music Theatre, recognized as one of the top Gilbert and Sullivan companies in the world, is one of the oldest continuously performing theatres in the Bay Area.  Since the company’s founding in 1952, Lamplighters Music Theatre has been dedicated to upholding the tradition of light opera and musical theatre, particularly through the production of the operettas of W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan. The company has produced the entire Gilbert and Sullivan canon as well as other light opera and musical theatre classics such as Die Fledermaus, The Merry Widow, My Fair Lady, Candide, A Little Night Music, The Secret Garden, and others.

      Writers for MOCK THE VOTE’s original book and lyrics (set to the music of Arthur Sullivan) include Barbara Heroux of San Francisco, Geoff Colton of Oakland, Jonathan Spencer of Alameda, Cary Rosko of San Francisco, Matt Callahan of Fremont, Chris Walkey of Tampa, Florida, Mike Dederian of Portland, Oregon, and James Campbell of Tucson, Arizona.
